The 13th of June 2009 would have been a black day for my country. And it will be a black day in the history of the XXIst century if the free world capitulates to Ahmadinejad.
This 13th of June, Ahmadinejad has been “re-elected” president of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Regardless the hope of change manifestations by the Iranian society throughout the electoral campaign, and to the price of a massive and unprecedented fraud the polling day.
The evidences are concordant enough to leave no doubt about the extent of this fraud. For any use it may be, I give here an example: Friday 12th June at 1:00pm Paris local time, therefore 3:30pm Tehran local time, and so 6 hours and 30 minutes before last polling stations to close, some contacts from inside the Interior Ministry had communicated to me the figures that would be made public next day for the re-election of Ahmadinejad – almost 63% of the votes !
The same evening, same sources announced me that, according to the ballots counted, Mousavi had obtained 57% of votes, against only 28% for Ahmadinejad !
This is the proof that Ahmadinejad had organized to force his election from the first tour, to avoid massif increase of Mousavi’s partisans before the second tour.
It is the proof of a “Coup d’Etat” through the polls, to give an apparent popular legitimacy to a regime that has precisely isolate itself from all sorts of popular support.
And we must not misunderstand the pretended concession of Guardians of the Revolution Council that, although they refuse to invalid the poll, they would accept a partial recounting of the ballots: it’s only a mean political strategy to save time, hoping the people’s anger will calm down.
Getting himself re-elected, Ahmadinejad has taken the last step towards absolute dictatorship. Doubtless, never from the past thirty years, freedom has been that much threatened in Iran.
But this danger that threatens my country is only the emergent part of the iceberg that threatens the whole region and, further away, the Occidental world and it’s democracies.
Ahmadinejad gets ready, under the worldwide public opinion resignation, to jump over the decisive step of his imperialist politics by accessing to nuclear military power.
We must mobilise all our strength for the wish of the polls in my country to be respected, because, if Ahmadinejad stays president, we will have the war.
For a simple reason: Israel will never accept Iran Islamist and nuclear armed.
And occidental leader countries must know that the conflagration of the region involve a jump into the unknown and the consequences would be worldwide devastating.
My country, and the region that surrounds it, are now face to a turn around of their history. And even a turn around of History.
Since Saturday, Iranian people manifest massively – and courageously – their wish for their vote to be recognized.
Further from their immediate claim – the dictator must give up his place to the president elected by democratic vote at the polls – their wide manifestations are the proof that the Iranian people, in their great majority, reject massively the aggressive exterior politics of Ahmadinejad which places my country amongst the “conflictive nations”.
But events of these last few days have put in evidence the divisions inside the regime itself, from the highest authorities to the Guardians of the Revolution, between partisans of the bellicose tough line of Ahmadinejad, and those who want to re-establish a progressive Iran, respectful of it’s neighbours.
Seeing the courageous determination of the Iranian people and a part of their leaders, I can only deplore the reactions absolutely lifelessness – for not saying something more – from the leaders of the greatest democracies.
The worst would be that this lifelessness became a prelude to a simple and pure capitulation face to Ahmadinejad’s dictatorship, just like it was the case of the Munich’s Agreement face to Hitler, which ended up to the Second War.
Because, I repeat again, Ahmadinejad is not only a threat for my country’s people, but for the stability and the peace in the entire region.
For this reason, I claim to all the leaders of the free world, and to the leaders of the Arab countries – the first concerned by the risk represented by Ahmadinejad – to not recognize this tyrant. This is the way you can support the action of the Iranian people and prevent from war.
